Description

This course explores the contributions of psychological, biological, and socio-cultural factors to health by focusing on human behavior and decision-making. Through readings, analytic activities, and experiential learning assignments, students will examine major health areas of importance to individual and community well-being, including stress, mental health, exercise, and nutrition. In addition, students will explore evidence-based theories of health behavior and their application to health promotion and education. This course is appropriate for students interested in health care and public health, as well as students who are interested in learning to critically assess health decisions and behaviors.
