Description
Health Psychology explores the application of psychological theory, methods and research to health, physical illness, and health care. This introductory course begins with an overview of health psychology as a scientific, interdisciplinary approach to our health and well-being. The course will also explore the psychological factors involved in effective healthcare delivery. Major topics to be addressed include how psychological processes influence disease response, stress, coping, pain, chronic and terminal illnesses, and health disparities across different demographic groups.
