Description
This second part of Treatment of Substance Abuse provides students with the opportunity to learn advanced approaches to treatment and relapse prevention. This course covers issues that may arise with persons diagnosed with substance use disorders and codes of ethics that apply to CASAC counselors in dealing with them. Topics covered include HIV/AIDS, disabilities, psychological disorders, mandated therapy, mandatory reporting, interactions with the criminal justice system, and cultural barriers.
